watercolour and ink on paper

Fair weather friends are not worth much

SWALLOW was a flutter and a flaunt

Saying: Beauty and Grace, my natural haunt

Designer plumage, always best for me

Everywhere I look, jeal-ou-sy.

CROW was a solid old bird

Said very little, or so I heard

Just one little mumbled retort offered:

Mine keeps me warm in winter.
