Dearest Sister

Day six and I hope you will write to me soon.  Everything has turned out so well here.  It troubles me to think you might still be angry with me.  One day you will be able to join me.  Promise.

The same sun shines on me that shined on you eight hours ago.  I had a little nap in the sunshine today, lulled to sleep by the gentle lapping of the Thames a few metres from my feet.  It was as delightful as you can imagine and as decadent.  The luxury is so amazing, even the sun feels more luxurious.

The people here are good.  Diane is a caring boss.  She gave me a large collection of songs with unlimited play.  They are old songs for her but new for me.  Peter is so easy to work with.  He has a careless sense of revolution.  Some interesting ideas but he seems to have forgotten the difficulty of the dispossessed.  He wants to save the world but he does not know the world.  He has an eager way.  He encouraged me to talk more than I have for a while.  I talked about our mother.  I talked in a way I have only ever talked to you.  It was just me responding to his enthusiasm.  When I am talking to you again you will not need his conversation.

Love,
