Peter waited for Naomi in the corridor. He made the sign of drinking from a small cup.
Coffee. (Peter)
Naomi nodded. She followed him to the cafe. Peter waved at a table of students in the corner. Au pairs. He went to the counter. Naomi pointed at the picture of a frappe. Peter ordered. They took their drinks to the table.
Hey everyone. This is Naomi. This is Janet. Srpri. Efrid. Groose. Triv. (Peter)
They each held up their Skrolls. Naomi tapped each one.
Hi. (Naomi)
Where are you from. (Triv)
Naomi looked at Peter.
No English yet. (Peter)
Really. None at all. (Triv)
Stop being a dick. (Srpri)
Naomi sipped her drink quietly. She watched the au pairs. Talking. Laughing. Touching. They forgot she was there. She did not open her Skroll. She did not translate what they were saying. She saw Jack walking passed the cafe on the other side of the glass. Walking with Jazz. He did not look in the cafe. She looked at the au pairs. This looked like the best time of their week.
