Not clever enough to explain
If I could walk a mile in your shoes, sadly, it would just be me walking a mile in strange, perhaps uncomfortable, shoes. For it takes more than a mile to understand another. Today I struggled to understand a friend and while I continued talking, while I continued to say things to him I was no longer engaged as I could not explain my point to him. The conversation was about a previous conversation he had not understood and I worry the conversation left him with a feeling that I thought him not clever enough to understand, whereas the truth was I was not clever enough to explain.
