The words were spoken
It was said, the words were spoken. It does not matter that the words were spoken in anger, or defensively, or even definitely. It does not even matter that the words were spoken mistakenly. The words were spoken and they cannot be unsaid. An apology may be offered. An explanation may be given but if the words that were spoken were not the truth then the truth has to be lived to be believed. Confidence needs to be found anew for the trust to continue doing this together, or the best we will be is ships in the night or fairweather friends.
