Zen in a tent
She used the phrase zen in a tent and I thought that was a nice description. Since then the phrase has stayed with me, and it is true. When I am working I am zen in a tent. I am not a goose in a tent paddling frantically to look serene, I really feel serene, I feel a calmness that we can figure it out and because I feel that calmness I can be chatty and friendly and I enjoy my time. It makes me quite good at my job but part of the zen is understanding I am in a tent and there are so many other parts of the tent that are not zen. They are stoic. They are solid. They are dynamic. I know I will remain zen in a tent and enjoy it. If only I could find my zen when I am not at work.
