Isn't the imagination powerful, a well crafted story, be it true or not, can invoke physical responses and sensation like that of meeting a wild beast in the night, or the greatest loss, or the strongest hope. And sure, we can work out how to temper those thoughts to allow the sensation to pass by without action but we can also use that skill of narration to build responses in ourselves... I think I can...
